Arts in the Community XIX
Call for Entries… It is free to enter and a great way to share your talents with the community. People just beginning to create art as well as those with more experience are invited to show their work. Artists are asked to deliver their work for display during the last two weeks of July until the deadline for entry on July 31st. Please call ahead to reserve a space for your work. There is no charge to participate and artists are welcome to price their work for sale. In order to hang work, drawings and paintings must have secure wires on the frames or be matted. Poets and writers need to present their work in a displayable format – either framed, matted or in book form. Phone the art center at 270-247-6971 with any questions. The show will open August 4 and continue through the 28th. Reception: August 6, 6 PM – 7:30 PM

The Loss of Two Talented Artists
We are saddened by the news of the passing of guild artists Rob Livezey and Harvey Parker.
Rob Livezey created beautiful glass objects for our giftshop and was a master marble maker. He owned Stardust Glass Studio in Wingo, KY.
Harvey Parker was the Gifted & Talented Instructor for the Four River County Consortium. He also a well-loved teacher at the Ice House and regularly exhibited his work in the gallery. His work was wonderfully eclectic, ranging from drawing to collage to sculptures.
Both men will be deeply missed. Our thoughts are with their families.

COMPUTER NEEDED Do you have a gently used computer that you would like to donate to the Art Guild? The computer we have now seems to be in its death throes. We have backed up the files and tried to repair it, but we fear it is only a matter of time. Of course, we would gladly accept a new one.
